One horse stands out here. Lockheed made an impressive debut at Ascot when second to another talented son of Frankel Seven Heavens. I'm sure William Haggas considered his chestnut son [looks grey] of Exceed And Excel near unbeatable. Owners China Horse Clubs paid 450,000G for this January foal who is out of a Clinic [Cheveley Park Stud] who achieved Group 2 success. Lockheed is held in the highest regard at home and will be racing at pattern class next start. The form of that first race has been franked but it is worth considering this is far from a one-horse race. Even if this juvenile wins you may have to consider is 4/5 value.
There are a few two-year-olds racing here which are held in high regard by their trainers and Black Trilby may just give each-way value at 16/1. This chestnut colt was relatively fancied on debut at Leicester over 6f but gave the impression this son of Helmet needed the run. This 54,000G yearling purchase ran in a hot race on debut and with over two months on the sidelines should come back primed and ready. Clive Cox has some talented two-year-olds in his string and a recent entry for the Champagne Stakes Group 2 gives further encouragement. In addition, this step up to 7f should be to his advantage. At odd of 16/1 there may be value for a speculative each-way bet.
Colibri is held in high regard.
A fascinating contest and we will be seeing a few of these taking part in Group races before too long.
