2:15 Carlisle - Speculative Bet (15th June)

A Maiden Auction Stakes over 5f 193y on good going. Quite a restricted race type. Sometimes less fashionable stables can be written off as training poor horses but they can often slip under the radar and go well at a price. My Valentino is only a cheap purchase but ran in a very hot race on debut when sent off 66/1. This gelding trained by Dianne Sayer was slow away that day but far from disgraced and while not competitive at Ayr should appreciate what could be a marked drop in class. At odds of 25/1+ it's not impossible this gelding could sneak a place and fingers crossed for more if a couple of the debutantes are lesser lights.
